At The Art Department, Paisley we wish to ensure our visitors have enough information to assist them when attending classes or visiting exhibitions, particularly if you have mobility issues or other access needs.
- Blue Badge Parking – There are 4 disabled parking spaces in front of Greggs Cafe (10-22 Causyeside St) which is adjacent to the traffic lights and crossing and directly opposite to our front entrance. There are also 2 disabled parking spaces in Dunn Square (1-5 Causeyside Street) which is on the same side as The Art Department.
- General Parking – There is limited street parking on Causeyside St, Forbes Place, Orchard Street and New Street. All of these are a short walking distance from the venue.
- Multi-Storey Parking – The nearest car park is Storie Street (off New Street) behind the Paisley Shopping Centre. Paisley Centre – Garage (parkopedia.co.uk)
- Public Transport – There are several bus stops on Causeyside, 3 of which are directly outside the venue. We are mainly served by McGill’s Buses. http://www.mcgillsbuses.co.uk/mcgills-bus-timetables.aspx
- Level Access, Lifts & Escalators – our main entrance is on the ground floor accessed via street level front door. We have a lift for wheelchair access to our first floor only.
- Signage – Our shop/gallery signs say THE ART DEPARTMENT in blue, red and yellow vinyl on the windows of our unit.
- Toilets – We will have one customer toilet on the ground floor or our unit. This is brand new Accessible Toilet. We also have ladies and gents toilets on the top floor of our premises accessible only by stairs.
- Water – We will have free potable drinking water on the ground floor adjacent to Workshop area in a small kitchen area. Tea & coffee also available.
